What kind of food does Mr. Vain serve? Mr. Vain is a Modern Asian restaurant.Much of the menu is gluten-free by design; let us know of any allergies or dietary requirements at the time of booking and we'll take care of it.
What's the atmosphere like? Moody & energetic. Think 90s New York. Low lighting, gold accents, 90's house music & smooth jazz. Mr. Vain is predominantly a restaurant, with the Velvet Lounge by the bar for those after just a drink and a snack.
Is there live music? Yes. Every Saturday 7-9pm. A weekly rotation of Live Jazz piano, vocals, saxaphone & more.
Is there a dress code? Smart casual is encouraged. There's no strict dress code, but most guests dress up a little for the occasion.
Do I need a reservation? We recommend booking ahead, particularly Thursday to Saturday. Walk-ins are welcome at the Velvet Lounge, subject to limited availability.
What are your hours? Dinner runs 7 days, Monday to Sunday from 4:45pm.
Do you cater for group bookings? Feeding a table of 7 or more? Let us do it for you. Groups of 7+ dine from our Signature banquet menus. A curated spread of Mr. Vain's best dishes, made to share, no individual ordering required. Group dining made easy.
Can I bring a cake or decorations for a celebration? Yes. You're welcome to bring table decorations and a cake to mark the occasion. Just let us know ahead of time by making a note upon booking. There is a $5pp cakeage fee.
What happens if I'm running late? We hold your table for 15 minutes past your booking time. Running later than that? Give us a call or send us a message on your OpenTable reservation link.
What's your cancellation policy? Plans change, reschedule or cancel free of charge with more than 48 hours' notice. Inside 48 hours, a $50pp fee applies. Also applies to reduced guests on set banquets.
Where is Mr. Vain located? 1a/610 Ann Street, Fortitude Valley QLD 4006. Look for the laneway entrance via the black gate off Ann Street, by the bus stop.
Is there parking nearby? Chinatown secure parking is available via Wickham street and Ann street. Mr. Vain is also accross from the Ann Street bus stop (Stop 216).
Is Mr. Vain wheelchair accessible? Yes, the venue is wheelchair accessible.
Can I book Mr. Vain for a private function? Yes. Mr. Vain is available for exclusive full venue hire, suited to both refined sit-down banquets and cocktail-style celebrations. Get in touch to discuss your event.
Can you accommodate dietary requirements for private events? Yes, most allergies and dietary requirements can be accommodated for both group bookings and private functions when provided at the time of booking.
